This position will work with EAM/WMS data and software systems (Enterprise Asset Management/Work Management System). Experience with strategic planning and the implementation of large-scale technology projects, and knowledge of trends in utility operations will be helpful. Role Levels

This position is available to be hired and the three levels below: Senior Systems Analyst (6+ years of related professional experience) Systems Analyst Consultant (10+ years of related professional experience) Lead Systems Analyst (10+ years of related professional experience and at least one related certification)

Position Concept

A Systems Analyst develops applications; implements software packages, integrates applications, and provides 24x7 application support. Collaborates on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the application design, development, and implementation phases. Utilizes appropriate development tools and technologies in keeping with the IT architecture. Advancement

Develops complex software and integrates applications with complex interfaces based on specifications. Creates and reviews technical design specifications. Works under limited supervision and mentors junior staff. Develops complex software based on specifications; collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications. Implements software packages requiring in-depth configuration and integration; drives interaction with vendor resources. Integrates applications with complex interfaces based on specifications. Provides 24x7 primary/secondary support for one or more critical applications. Supports SDLC phases by producing required documentation and estimates; reviews deliverables by junior staff. Executes design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC with prescribed deliverables; reviews junior staff deliverables. Participates on Application Development and Support teams; may function as Technical Lead on projects. Maintains knowledge of relevant business areas; mentors junior staff and contributes to standard practices.

Supervision & Relationships

Supervision:

Indirect supervision; may oversee contract resources and/or junior staff. Relationships:

Internal collaboration with TECO Energy IT teams; External interaction with outside consulting firms and vendors. Qualifications

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, additional years related experience may be considered. Licenses/Certifications Preferred: One or more professional certifications in specific job-related disciplines. Related Experience Required: Six years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a high school diploma and 4+ additional years may be considered. Preferred: Eight years of experience. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Strong knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies; stays current with IT trends and emerging technologies. Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills; presents information to teams and departments. Understands project plans and articulates role, goals, and timelines; develops project plans for small projects and partners with Project Managers for larger ones. Creates and reviews technical design specifications; knowledge of development tools and IT architecture. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.

Systems Analyst Consultant

The Systems Analyst Consultant leads complex software development projects, guides selection and implementation of software packages, and mentors junior staff. May serve as backup to Manager. Leads complex software development projects; collaborates with Business Systems Analysts to develop software specifications. Leads software package selection and implementation; drives vendor interactions. Leads integration of applications with complex interfaces. Provides 24x7 support; coordinates maintenance activities including release schedules. Supports SDLC phases; oversees deliverables produced by junior staff. Executes SDLC phases; may lead multiple concurrent projects and function as Technical Lead. Subject matter expert across multiple business areas; mentors junior staff; drives standard practices.

Lead Systems Analyst

The Lead Systems Analyst leads complex software development projects and serves as a subject matter expert across multiple business areas. Mentors junior staff and may backup the Manager. Leads complex software development projects; defines software specifications. Leads selection/implementation of software packages; vendor coordination. Leads integration of applications with complex interfaces. Provides 24x7 support; coordinates release activities. Manages deliverables for junior staff; may supervise multiple projects. Acts as Technical Lead; oversees technical staff and standard practices.

Supervision (Lead)

Direct supervision of assigned IS staff; manages resources, vendor relationships, and may backup the Manager. Additional Information
