HR/Safety Generalist

to support both our people and our projects. The

HR/Safety Generalist

manages a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, and benefits, while also overseeing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance (like OSHA), managing incident reporting and investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture within the organization. Key duties involve developing safety policies, providing safety training to employees, coordinating with management on safety initiatives, and maintaining records related to personnel and safety incidents. Human Resources Recruitment:

Posting job ads, screening applications, participating in interviews, and managing the onboarding and offboarding processes. Employee Relations:

Responding to employee questions about policies, conducting workplace investigations, and managing employee engagement activities. Benefits Administration:

Overseeing benefits programs and assisting with leave of absence processes. Policy & Procedures:

Developing, communicating, and enforcing HR policies and procedures. Workplace Safety Compliance:

Ensuring the organization adheres to federal and state safety and health regulations, such as those from OSHA. Risk Management:

Identifying hazardous workplace conditions, assessing risks, and implementing safety programs to reduce injuries. Training:

Providing safety training to employees and conducting new hire orientations to promote a safe work environment. Incident Management:

Overseeing the reporting, investigation, and resolution of workplace incidents and accidents. Safety Programs:

Leading or participating in safety committees, conducting safety audits, and developing safety initiatives. Required Skills Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to train employees and communicate with various levels of management and employees. Organization: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Problem-Solving: Analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex HR and safety issues. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport, foster trust, and resolve conflicts with employees and leadership. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with HRIS and relevant software, along with Microsoft Office Suite. Goals of the Role Promote a culture of safety. Foster a positive and proactive safety culture through training and engagement. Guarantee that the organization meets all legal and regulatory requirements for both HR and safety. Align HR and safety initiatives with the organization's overall business objectives and strategic planning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Advertise open positions, screen resumes/applications and participate in the interview process Manage the onboarding process. Partner with facility leadership on engagement activitie Participates in various projects Handle workplace investigations related to HR matters. Prepares HR Invoices for payment. Maintains employee personnel files. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Human Resources or equivalent work experience 2+ year experience in HR and Safety/Health function (You may be able to go with 1-2 years) Knowledge of OSHA, Employment Law, and State/Federal regulations What We Offer Competitive salary.
