Jewish Federation of Greater Houston | Full time Overview

Public Affairs Manager role in advancing the mission of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston. Location: Houston, United States. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities Implement government relations strategies in collaboration with the Public Affairs Director, including engagement with elected officials and policy makers at the local, state, and federal levels. Represent the Federation in coalitions and external advocacy efforts to amplify Jewish community priorities. Prepare and deliver briefing materials, position papers, and legislative updates for internal and external stakeholders, including the Federations Public Affairs Committee. Monitor and analyze relevant legislation and public policy trends; advise senior leadership on advocacy opportunities. Maintain relationships with public officials, national Jewish advocacy organizations, and community leaders. Support Israel-related policy engagement and Federation initiatives. Manage the administration of the organizations Nonprofit Security Grant and assist with communication to the organization about the details of this grant program. Nurture partnerships with faith groups outside the Jewish community, nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, and community groups to advance shared goals and initiatives. Collaborate with other members of the Impact Team to plan and execute programs that strengthen cross-sector relationships. Manage logistics and communications related to community site visits, partner events, and public programming.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and interest in advocacy or government affairs. 5-7 years of work experience in public affairs or related field. Passion for the Jewish Community and for public policy issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to support the planning of public events. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of Israel politics and current events.
