Overview
Senior IT Auditor (Auditor General) at State of Florida. Openings in multiple cities. The role participates in IT audits, analysis, and testing of IT controls across computing environments. Responsibilities
Conduct IT audits or engagements at State agencies, educational entities, and local governmental units, including development of audit plans, coordinating audit team work, supervision, review of work, evaluation of automated systems and internal controls, testing, and related procedures. Compile general statistical data. Monitor critical IT projects as required by law. Determine extent of compliance with applicable laws, policies, plans, and procedures. Prepare reports with recommendations for improvements in accounting methods, information systems, program operations, and internal controls. Prepare recommendations for reporting changes to statutory and budgetary requirements. Meet with governmental officials to discuss audit findings and recommendations. Assist in instruction, training, and supervision of subordinate auditors; assign and review work. Assist in preparing audit programs and developing procedures; perform other related duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of accounting, auditing, and relevant professional standards Knowledge of IT system requirements Knowledge of research techniques Knowledge of laws, regulations, and administrative requirements Skill in the use of a personal computer Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Ability to handle confidential information Ability to apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Ability to solve problems Ability to interview effectively and organize information Ability to work well as a team member and meet deadlines Ability to supervise people Ability to interact with Legislature and other officials Ability to maintain objectivity and exercise sound judgment Minimum Qualifications
A bachelors degree with accounting and specific coursework plus CPA eligibility and two years of relevant professional experience, or various combinations per the posting; or a masters degree with IT emphasis and two years of relevant experience; or other combinations including CISAs or MBA with three years of experience; or CPA with two years of experience.
