Insight Global is seeking a Materials Planner. The primary function of this position is to endure suppliers are shipping material according to the schedules submitted. The material planner will monitor the material in transit to ensure that it is delivered to the plant on-time to support production needs.
Responsible to fully manage assigned parts and their respective suppliers, including all problem resolutions
Develop suppliers in regard to improving their delivery performance
Coordinate engineering changes to support customer needs while minimizing obsolescence
Analyze MRP daily to ensure optimum planning parameters are used to control inventory levels
Coordinate expedites of production material from supplier as needed to support the production plan
Responsible for premium freight monitoring for assigned parts
Communicates any supplier discrepancies to suppliers, appropriate planning personnel, and management daily
Assists in all inventory activities
Assumes special assignments as directed by supervisor or management

Familiarity with SAP R/3 enterprise system Prior experience with an automotive supplier Prior experience with a start-up operation Experience with high volume automotive supply requirements German language skills (reading, writing, speaking) Education: Minimum of 1-2 years of college education Experience working in a manufacturing environment General knowledge of Logistical processes Experience: Strong computer skills with MS office programs Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts Specific Skills: Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) Ability to work in cross-functional teams Experience in capacity planning and inventory control APICS affiliation/certification Familiarity with AIAG
