The Program Controls Scheduler plays a crucial role within the Program Controls function, collaborating closely with the Program Controls Analyst to support a diverse portfolio of aerospace programs for DoD, NASA, and commercial customers. These programs encompass Firm Fixed Price, Cost-Plus, and pure commercial contracts, some of which necessitate ANSI/EIA-748-compliant Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS). This role involves developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project as the enterprise scheduling tool. The Program Controls Scheduler ensures cost-schedule integration, supports effective program planning and execution, and customizes scheduling strategies to align with each program's unique lifecycle, risk posture, and contractual requirements. This position requires a high degree of collaboration among engineering, business, and operational teams to ensure that programs are delivered on time, within budget, and with full visibility into performance. Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and control Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) aligned with the WBS, Control Account structure, and contractual deliverables. Apply Critical Path Methodology (CPM), perform schedule integrity checks, and maintain logical network relationships. Integrate schedules with cost and risk systems to support full cost-schedule integration and, when required, Earned Value Management (EVM). Establish and maintain schedule baselines; support baseline change management and Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs). Perform schedule performance analysis, including variance analysis, float analysis, critical path identification, metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and trend assessments. Support Estimate to Complete (ETC), Estimate at Completion (EAC), and forecasting processes in partnership with the Program Controls Analyst. Tailor scheduling and planning approaches to suit program typeranging from highly regulated government programs to agile commercial efforts. Support proposal activities by developing proposal-level schedules aligned with technical and cost strategies. Collaborate daily with Program Managers, CAMs, engineers, contracts, procurement, finance, quality, and other functions to ensure integrated execution. Present schedule performance data and recommendations to leadership, customer stakeholders, and functional teams. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support tool integrations across cost, schedule, and risk and change management systems. Required Qualifications
Three (3+) or more years of experience in project scheduling or program planning within aerospace, defense, or other technically complex environments, supporting diverse program types. Bachelors degree in Program Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Extensive experience developing and maintaining logic-driven network schedules for complex programs. Deep knowledge of Critical Path Methodology (CPM), float analysis, and schedule risk assessment. Experience with schedule baseline development and change control processes. Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and schedule integration techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Project (enterprise scheduling tool) and Microsoft Office applications. Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing program leadership. Ability to work across multiple programs with varying contract types, lifecycle phases, and reporting requirements. Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD, NASA, or government aerospace programs with full EVM and IBR participation. Experience integrating MS Project with cost and performance tools (e.g., Cobra, wInsight, EVMS for Project, or internal dashboards). Experience tailoring scheduling practices for commercial programs and agile development environments. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities across multiple programs. Ability to assess and improve existing planning processes and tools. Salary Range
