The Impact You'll Make in this Role As an AI/ML Ops Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and Supply Chain SMEs to develop and implement AI/ML solutions which solve problems and surface insights Work on projects that span all aspects of supply chain operations and leverage machine learning, Generative AI, data mining, statistical, and/or other analytics strategies Create scalable, production-ready real-time and batch ML solutions, taking algorithms from initial concept through to deployed systems Optimize the performance and scalability of machine learning models Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the fields of machine learning and data science to ensure that we stay at the cutting edge of industry practices Build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with leaders and colleagues Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Engineering (Completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution Two (2) years of on-the-job experience deploying machine learning capabilities in a cloud-based environment, with a track record of delivering impactful results in a private, public, government or military environment One (1) year of experience in software design and development using Python or other languages such as Scala, Java, C++, or C# Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field Experience in the architecture, design, and building large-scale machine learning applications in the cloud, preferably in AWS Familiarity with automated code and model deployment practices and tools Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms and frameworks Expertise in one or more of the following applied fields: Transformers, Large Language Models, LLM evaluation, Knowledge Graphs Strong collaboration skills, including working with cross-functional teams and a track record of educating and learning from coworkers Great interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international Relocation: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status). The expected compensation range for this position is $98,413 - $120,282, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
