Lockheed Martin Corporation
Autonomy /AI Machine Learning Engineer Senior
Lockheed Martin Corporation, Stratford, Connecticut, United States, 06497
Overview
Autonomy /AI Machine Learning Engineer Senior Lockheed Martin This role is based in Stratford, CT. The team focuses on Flight Controls and Autonomy, including Fly-By-Wire Flight Control Systems, GNC, Autonomy, Aviation Robotics, Perception, AI, and Motion Planning. You will work with a team to build novel software architectures, algorithms, and tools for modeling environments and guiding aircraft motion. Responsibilities
Develop models that fuse a-priori information (terrain, towers, airspaces) with real-time sensor data to support aircraft motion planning and safe path delivery. Create databases and analytics tools to enable collection and processing of large terrain and point cloud data sets. Apply autonomous systems perception techniques (computer vision, mapping, object detection, semantic segmentation, classification, camera/LiDAR calibration, point cloud processing) and sensor fusion across cameras, LiDARs, and Radar. Advance motion planning and trajectory optimization with kinodynamic constraints in cluttered 3D environments, including search-based and sample-based methods. Rapidly prototype perception and motion algorithms and transition them to flight test; collaborate with researchers and engineers across autonomy and flight controls. Support programs through software development, test, system integration, and flight tests. Demonstrate strong coding skills in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB. Qualifications
Background and applied expertise in autonomous systems perception: computer vision, mapping, object detection, semantic segmentation, calibration, and point cloud processing. Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art perception technologies across multiple sensors and sensor fusion. Expertise in autonomous systems motion planning and trajectory optimization with kinodynamic constraints. Experience with rapid prototyping of algorithms for flight test and cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB. Ability to work on highly complex problems and lead to world-changing technological breakthroughs. Additional Information
Why join us: Drive innovation across factories, leveraging leading technologies, with opportunities to influence manufacturing and technology leadership. #J-18808-Ljbffr
