Full-Stack Engineer

OpenAI's Applications Engineering organization builds and operates the products that bring our cutting-edge research to millions of users and developers worldwide. We power products such as ChatGPT, the OpenAI API, and emerging AI-native applications. Our teams span product engineering, infrastructure, and safety, working together to ensure that OpenAI's technology is delivered with reliability, security, and a world-class user experience. We're seeking full-stack engineers to own features end-to-endfrom backend services to polished user interfaces. You'll build the systems, APIs, and client experiences that bring OpenAI's models to life for consumers and developers, combining strong engineering fundamentals with product sensibility. In this role, you will: Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and web interfaces for products like ChatGPT and the OpenAI API. Implement user-facing features using React/TypeScript while maintaining robust server-side logic in languages such as Python or Go. Collaborate with design and product teams to translate AI capabilities into intuitive experiences. Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and security. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and performance. You might thrive in this role if you: Have up to 6 years of full-stack engineering experience delivering production products. Are comfortable working across the stack with technologies such as React, TypeScript, Python, Go, and modern cloud infrastructure. Enjoy owning projects from concept through deployment and iteration. Care about building seamless, reliable experiences for end users.
