Overview
Chime’s Lending product is entering its next chapter—graduating from pilot to general availability after a 2.5 year journey. We’ve hit a major milestone with over one million loans originated and are scaling to 5–10 million. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-visibility initiative and lead the redesign of our mobile experience from the ground up. You’ll be joining a cross-functional team with strong product-market fit and working alongside a dedicated designer to build a polished, intuitive experience that serves millions. Responsibilities
Redesign and rebuild the Lending mobile experience for Chime from the ground up using React Native. Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver high-quality mobile features. Build user interfaces that are responsive, accessible, and performant across devices. Own and improve core product flows, ensuring a frictionless experience for Chime members. Work with a designer to lead the refresh effort. Contribute to code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers. Monitor app performance, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver continuous improvements. Qualifications
Have 3+ years of overall professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years specifically using React Native to build member-facing mobile experiences that support scalable, high-impact products. Have worked on consumer mobile apps in production, delivering improvements through experimentation and user feedback. Have integrated RESTful APIs to connect mobile frontends with backend services for a seamless user experience. Have debugged and improved performance across the mobile stack to ensure app responsiveness and reliability. Have built secure and compliant features in highly regulated environments (bonus if in FinTech). Have collaborated across functions to drive mobile-first thinking and member-centric design. Have contributed to a culture of code quality, testing, and team ownership. A little about us
