If more hours are desired, staff are able to help out at our Raleigh campus too. Status: Per Diem (PRN, as needed). Shift Requirement: Minimum of 2 shifts/month or up to 12 hours (when hours are available). Our MRI department is open Monday through Friday, 7a-7:30p & Saturday/Sunday from 9a-1p. No call or holiday shifts required for PRNs. Job Duties: Our MRI department helps cover ER patients, inpatients, and outpatients. Summary and Responsibilities include patient, technical, contrast, image transfer, and other duties to support diagnostic imaging operations. Responsibilities Patient Identification: Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, assist patients and family members requiring extra attention, ensure patient understanding and safety, verify pregnancy status on patients of child bearing age. MRI Technology: Operate MRI scanners, be proficient with automatic injections of MRI contrast, disc drives, gateways, PACS and laser printers; maintain ARRT or ARMRIT active status; interpret protocols and select scanning parameters; share knowledge with team; troubleshoot equipment/protocol issues. Contrast: Administer oral and IV contrast according to protocols; establish intravenous lines; verify contrast eligibility; review lab values before contrast injection per protocol. Image Transfer: Understand PACS and transmit images to required systems; verify and segment images; verify demographic information and patient identification per policy; ensure accurate charge information; avoid duplicate orders. Other Duties: Maintain workflow, assist with challenging tasks and new research, produce high-quality diagnostic images, review charts, maintain a clean work environment, document incidents for improvement, precept new staff and students.

Qualifications Education: Completion of an accredited program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months of application. Licensure/Certification: Must be registered with ARRT or ARMRIT or be registry eligible; if registry eligible, provide diploma copy. Advanced MR certification within one year of employment; maintain registry and continued education annually. Maintain current HCP BLS competency. Professional Experience: Relevant education, training, and experience to perform the tasks. Knowledge/Skills: MRI knowledge, cross-sectional anatomy, patient care, and technical troubleshooting abilities.
