The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results-oriented individual to serve as Permanency Specialist. Under general supervision, this position will provide professional child welfare casework services to children and families, determine needs, and coordinate the placement of children in substitute care facilities. The position will conduct interviews with clients and professionals to obtain information for continued diagnosis of problems and development of treatment plans. This role supports safety and stability for children and youth and offers the opportunity to contribute to positive outcomes for Illinois families. Provide experienced professional casework services to children and families as a Permanency Specialist. Work with intact families and children in home or substitute care. Conduct interviews with clients and professionals to obtain information for diagnosis and treatment planning. Transport clients as needed for protective custody, placement in substitute care, or location changes. Prepare and maintain case documentation for planning, implementing, and evaluating services. Participate in case staffings and multidisciplinary conferences to assess needed services. Perform other duties as required within the scope of the listed duties. Minimum Qualifications

Preferably a masters degree in social work; OR a masters degree in a related human service field with one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; OR a bachelors degree in social work with one year of related experience; OR a bachelors degree in a related human service field with two years of related experience. The degree must be accredited and the social work program approved by the Council on Social Work Education. Directly related experience must relate to family preservation, family reunification, adoption, youth development, counseling, and advocacy services or a related field. Conditions of Employment

Requires a valid drivers license, daily access to an automobile, and proof of vehicle insurance. Must be able to pass a background check. Must have the ability to perform the physical, visual, and auditory duties of the role. Overtime is a condition of employment and may require working evenings, weekends, and a 24-hour on-call capacity. Conditions listed are related to the listed job duties. About the Agency
