Overview
A warm, thoughtful family in Central San Francisco, CA is seeking a full-time career nanny to care for their two young girls, ages 1 and 3.5. The family is expecting in February, and while the position requires the capability of taking care of three children, there will typically always be one parent present, and the candidate is not expected to care for all three children at one time, except in rare cases of unforeseen circumstances or very short periods of time. Initial primary care will be for the 1-year-old. Mom will be on maternity leave for 5 to 6 months, and both parents are hands-on and work from home. The 3.5-year-old has ASD Level 1 and is high functioning with a speech delay. She is in pre-school full-time, has OT, and is very bright. The 1-year-old will be starting school next year. She turns 2 in June. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. The start date will be in November. Local candidates only, please
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the children
All aspects of full-charge care, including meal plan, prep/feeding, bathing, diapering, potty training, and playtime
Follow guidelines provided by occupational, speech, behavioral therapists, or other similar providers
Maintain an organized and hygienic environment
Child-related housekeeping, including children’s laundry, bottle, and toy sanitations, and tidying children’s areas (family has a housekeeper)
Take children to/from activities and appointments (car provided)
Research local age-appropriate events, classes, and activities for the children
Provide a nurturing and stimulating environment
Set thoughtful boundaries based on parents’ preferences
Collaboratively work with parents to provide the best possible care for the children
Encourage developmental learning and age-appropriate milestones
Engage in indoor and outdoor play and proactively plan activities
Support daily routines and transitions
Assist the family with occasional household duties such as grocery shopping
Qualifications
Calm, confident, energetic, and highly adaptable
Communicative
Ability to read the room and act accordingly
Experience with or knowledge of Autism and or speech delays
Proactive and intuitive approach
Creative, fun, personable, and professional positive demeanor
Ability to respect no-kissing boundaries for hygiene purposes, but be affectionate in an appropriate manner
Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
Ability to follow instructions well
Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
Requirements
Pet-friendly, the family has a dog who is in day care most of the time
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Trustline Certified
Prior experience in a similar role
Ability to start in November
Up-to-date vaccinations, TDap, MMR, Covid, Flu
Infant CPR/First Aid certification
Must be legal to work in the U.S.
Salary and Benefits
The family is offering $52 to $55 per hour DOE and a negotiable benefits package
