Procurement Manager
Hours are 8:00am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
The North America Procurement Manager oversees procurement and logistics activities across the US and Canada, ensuring cost -effective sourcing of goods and services while maintaining quality and compliance. This role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to support business goals. Focused on team management and cost-out initiatives, this position requires a focused technical professional to understand existing business and manufacturing demands to drive a scalable, sustainable, and profitable procurement platform. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities: Manage procurement of direct and indirect materials and services across North America operations. Align procurement strategies with organizational goals. Communicate procurement policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Streamline procurement workflows. Leverage data analytics for decision making. Assess and mitigate supply chain risks. Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers. Identify and realize cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations. Establish and monitor KPIs for procurement performance and supplier compliance. Set performance goals and conduct evaluations for procurement team. Promote continuous improvement and training as needed. Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and promote cost savings initiatives. Oversee procurement budgets and contribute to financial planning. Promote sustainability and ethical sourcing practices. Provide timely and appropriate feedback on projects and workload within the groups. Monitor and measure team progress against business plan and recommend changes as needed. Lead cross-functional projects within area of responsibility. Proactively seek feedback on self; recognize own capabilities and take initiative to continually improve. Essential Skills:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent experience. Engineering or technical discipline preferred. 10+ years of industry and management experience leading a technical team. Extensive experience with manufacturing planning tools (ERP/MRP) • Strong computational background to evaluate raw purchasing data to interpret and chart performance. Strong computational background to drive costing and profitability recommendations and decisions. Basic knowledge of business economics and trends of various industries and vertical markets. Leadership ability. Ability to make technical presentations in front of customers or high-level management. Ability to perform at a high-level with autonomy - exercise personal influence, conflict resolution. Ability to create, document and track team goals and objective
