In this role within Sea Logistics, the LCL Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the product, such as developing new business, maintaining regular liaison with key NVOCCs/CFS contacts and ensuring operational efficiencies. You will engage with Sales, OKAMs CCLs and ensure competitive pricing is provided for realistic client specific opportunities.

How you create impact

You will develop, implement and drive the national product and business development strategy for our less than full container load product (LCL) business. You will do this by working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on the following key objectives:

Drive sales and key account managers in developing LCL opportunities, regularly joining sales calls.

Work with the customer care and operational care teams (CCL and OCC) to ensure the dedication and expertise to meet customer demands is deployed.

Ensure the profitability of the product, proactively following up on discrepancies.

Upload and maintain LCL selling rates (MSR) to our designated system (KN Rates) to support our pricing department with quotations, in particular with tailor-made selling rates for important opportunities.

Negotiate trucking and container freight station (CFS) rates according to optimize the yield of the product, with the best service provider available according to our standards.

Provide regular LCL product training to all colleagues engaged in activities relating to your portfolio.

Develop tailor-made solutions for customers based on the product portfolio.

Maintain relationships with co-loaders.

Optimize yields by managing cargo flows via the best transportation option(s).

What we would like you to bring

Five+ years of experience in LCL freight forwarding with thorough knowledge and understanding of the Seafreight product and environment with focus on operations, administration and accounting.

Minimum three years managerial experience of operational department.

Able to translate strategy into operational roadmaps, deploying resources whilst focus on meeting target results.

Ability to work in a diverse environment and culture.

Network and relationship building both with external and internal customers.

Solid Business Analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.

Must be detail oriented, thorough and accurate and have the ability to efficiently solve problem though proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Depth of experience and expertise in sea logistics as well as forwarding/carrier operational systems experience including EDI and domestic transportation are highly desired

A self-starter, disciplined with leadership and motivational abilities.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
