Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day quality assurance operations to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards. Monitor and enforce food safety programs, including HACCP, GMPs, and SQF standards. Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure adherence to quality protocols. Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including non-conformances, customer complaints, and product deviations. Manage internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and ensuring successful outcomes. Train and mentor QA team members on quality processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Review and maintain quality records, including inspection reports, test results, and certifications. Collaborate with production, procurement, and operations teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of QA equipment and testing tools. Stay up to date with changes in food safety regulations and industry best practices. Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Must have strong, hands-on experience with food safety standards, including
HACCP ,
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) , and
Safe Quality Food (SQF)
programs. Experience conducting audits and managing compliance with FDA, USDA, or other regulatory agencies. Proficiency in quality management systems and documentation processes. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Relevant certifications such as SQF Practitioner, HACCP, or PCQI are highly preferred.
