Overview

A leading professional services firm is seeking a

Manager of IT Procurement

to join its Information Technology Department. This role, based in Washington, DC or New York, reports directly to the Chief Information Officer and plays a critical part in managing the acquisition of technology goods and services. The successful candidate will oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, budget management, and compliance with procurement policies to support the firm's technology infrastructure needs across all offices.

Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and select vendors for IT hardware, software, and related services based on cost, quality, and reliability.

Build and maintain relationships with key technology suppliers and service providers.

Manage vendor onboarding, performance monitoring, and business reviews with strategic vendors.

Partner with leadership and contract teams to negotiate favorable terms, service levels, and pricing.

Oversee contract renewals, amendments, and renegotiations to maximize value.

Monitor budgets, spending patterns, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders, invoices, lease schedules, and compliance documentation.

Oversee lifecycle management of leased and capital assets, including returns, reporting, and audit support.

Process and track purchases and inventory through procurement and ticketing systems.

Collaborate with Finance & Accounting and Accounts Payable on invoice processing, vendor inquiries, and audit reporting.

Ensure adherence to procurement policies and industry best practices. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT procurement, technology sourcing, or vendor management (professional services or legal industry experience preferred).

Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate data, trends, and risks to support decision-making.

Proven success in contract negotiation and vendor management with a focus on cost savings and service optimization.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Solid understanding of IT hardware, software, cloud services, and industry trends.

Proficiency with procurement systems, data analytics tools, ServiceNow, and advanced Excel.

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is

$150,000 to $175,000 , depending on experience, education, certifications, and location.
