Peckham Inc. - Director of Total Rewards and HR Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Total Rewards and HR Operations provides strategic leadership in designing and implementing compensation, benefits, and HR operations programs that drive engagement, compliance, and organizational performance. This role partners with business leaders across divisions to align HR strategies with company goals, while overseeing employee relations, policy compliance, and programs such as accommodations, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and leave management. The Director ensures policies remain competitive and legally compliant, anticipates market and legislative changes, and mentors the HR operations team to deliver excellence in service and execution. This position is integral to advancing organizational change, supporting business objectives, and enhancing employee satisfaction.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the HR Business Partner team in initiating and executing large-scale, enterprise-wide HR projects, driving operational excellence.
Develop and lead strategic HR Operations initiatives encompassing benefits, compensation, wellbeing, and leave programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Provide legal guidance and ensuring the organization adheres to relevant labor laws and regulations.
Lead the design, implementation, and administration of total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and retirement plans.
Collaborate with business unit leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals, ensuring seamless integration and effective HR service delivery.
Monitor and analyze legislative and marketplace changes to ensure competitiveness and compliance, proactively recommending programs and policies enhancements or adjustments.
Oversee development, updates, and adherence to employee policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws and organizational standards.
Partner with business and human services leaders to align HR operations strategies with Peckham’s mission and organizational goals.
Drive continuous improvements and operational efficiencies in HR policies and procedures, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
Provide guidance on HR compliance matters and foster a culture of inclusion and equity, across all levels of the organization.
Direct, mentor, and develop the HR operations team to deliver high-quality service and strategic execution.
Participates in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.
Ensure consistent HR service delivery across multiple business units, contracts, and locations.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders to foster collaboration and effective problem-solving.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide guidance and support in matters related to contracts and workforce reductions and expansions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while protecting employee interests. This includes analyzing labor impacts, adapting policies as needed, and supporting cultural integration during transitions
Provide HR expertise for Service Contract Act (SCA) compliance and administration, including detailed guidance on necessary adherence procedures, documentation requirements, and audit preparations to ensure organizational alignment with federal standards.
Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and make recommendations for improvement
Provide guidance to ensure compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and OFCCP requirements, advising on fair employment practices, background check use, and federal contractor obligations
Maintain safe and clean work environment
Promote Peckham’s vision values and services to all customers and stakeholders
Assist in maintaining organizational wide quality standards
Other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has direct supervisory responsibility.
Develop a unified team that reflects Peckham's culture and values and fosters
Provide feedback, mentorship, and coaching.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in a human resources or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in leading large-scale projects with multiple stakeholder groups, ideally across multiple locations
Experience in developing high-quality internal communications including presentations and training
