Tolerance Masters Inc is a precision machine shop located in Circle Pines, MN. We specialize in the manufacturing of close tolerance flight safety and critical performance machined parts and sub-assemblies.
We are seeking a Buyer to join our team, who will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services needed to support the production or aerospace products. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, as well as the ability to manage vendor relationships, maintain inventory control, and ensure cost-effective procurement while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Source and purchase raw materials (e.g., metals, fasteners, tooling), machined parts, and MRO items based on production schedules and inventory levels
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships. Evaluate vendor performance, lead times, pricing, and quality compliance
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory control and production to ensure timely replenishment of stock
Issue, track, and expedite purchase orders. Resolve discrepancies in orders, deliveries, and invoices
Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and specifications
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and quality standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field
2+ years of buying or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of CNC machining processes and materials (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, tooling, etc.)
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) procurement
Experience with vendor sourcing and global supply chain strategies
Hands on experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, JobBOSS, Oracle, etc.)
