University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a day shift travel assignment. This role involves caring for critically ill adult and geriatric patients with a variety of complex medical conditions in a fast-paced Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Nurses must be flexible to float within specialty and lower acuity areas as needed. Holiday and every other weekend coverage is required as scheduled. Self-scheduling is offered. Certifications & Requirements
RN License:
Active Maryland RN License or Compact License –
Required Certifications:
BLS (AHA)
– Required ACLS
– Required CPI
– Required (on-site during orientation, Calm Every Storm vendor accepted) NIHSS
– Required
Flu Vaccine (2025-2026)
– Required,
no exemptions Experience Required
Minimum 2 years ICU experience required Previous charge nurse experience preferred Community hospital experience preferred Travel experience not required; first-time travelers welcome Skills & Competencies
Patient Ratio:
1:2 (days, nights, weekends) Clinical Skills:
IV therapy including accessing ports, arterial line, central line, PICC management, blood product administration Respiratory care including ventilator management, chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, suctioning, HFNC Renal care including CRRT/CVVHD Neurological care including CVA/stroke management, hypothermia protocols Cardiac monitoring and emergency response including dysrhythmia management, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring Procedural sedation and medication titration including paralytics, sedation, cardiac and vasoactive drips Infection prevention, phlebotomy, wound care IV insulin protocols
Ability to float within specialty and lower acuity units as needed Strong critical thinking and communication skills Facility / Unit Details
