Thrivent . The Engineering Manager will help define and drive Thrivents Enterprise CRM strategy. This strategy aims to centralize Customer Relationship Management for Thrivent into a single CRM that revolutionizes client data and relationship management, enhancing efficiency and innovation for sales, service, and operations teams through various core CRM capabilities. We are looking for a manager with hands on Salesforce technical experience to drive the strategy along with helping coach and mentor your teams of engineers. You will lead a team of engineers and will collaborate with other engineering teams within the organization around strategy, best practices, operational decisions, requirements, and clarifications around the platform. This position will require experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Financial Services Cloud. Duties & Responsibilities Designing Solutions: Review technical solution design and architecture and provide guidance and direction. Take part in system design and architecture conversations with the team to land approaches to deliver solutions. Review technical solution and supports the execution of the solution. Developing Software: Has developed software. Can read code and stays up to date on best practices. Ensure code reviews are completed problem solving and analytical skills. Learning and applying new techniques: Promotes and empowers sharing ideas, best practices, etc. They need to make space so teams can take time for these activities. Anticipates and analyzes trends in technology and assesses the impact of emerging technologies on the business. Collaborating within team: Supports the team agile practices and learning events/trainings; helps break down barriers for the team; engages in sprint demos and collaborates with Product Manager on initiatives/features/epics. Collaborating across teams: Supports and empowers teams to broker solutions across products; understands product integrations and ensures consistency in approach; builds strong relationships with peers; identifies cross-team challenges and drives collaborative solutions. Collaborating across the organization: Aligns team with the priorities of the company and technology organization for a given product area. Setting product/platform technology strategy: Participates in setting the product and platform technology vision, strategies, initiatives, roadmaps, objectives and alignments; represents business value of technology upgrades and influences prioritization; empowers the team to select the right tools and platforms. Defining Engineering standards/patterns: Collaborates with Engineers to advocate engineering practices and continuous improvement; contributes to enterprise frameworks and patterns. DevOps: Defines and supports development lifecycle processes; supports the team in resolving production incidents/problems; emphasizes observability, monitoring, and alerting; maintains health of technology products. Selecting & Managing Technology Vendors: Defines criteria for selecting platforms/technologies; guides consensus on approaches and build vs buy decisions; manages technology solutions, platforms, and vendor relationships. Coaching Engineers: Conducts regular 1:1s, provides feedback and coaching, and supports career development plans for engineers. Recruiting/building talent: Leads recruitment and development of a high-performing team; promotes a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and partnership; supports a Thrivent employee-focused environment.

Qualifications & Skills

Required: Experience with Salesforce Sales & Service Clouds (Financial Services Cloud preferred) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience 8+ years of progressively responsible positions in Information Technology including 5+ years experience in IT discipline (e.g., CRM, portfolio strategy, roadmap development) 3+ years of leadership experience in IT discipline; 3+ years management/supervisory experience in IT functional area Demonstrated leadership and experience managing multidiscipline, high-performance teams Strong competency in project management and execution of large projects Experience working with customers to develop solutions to complex business problems Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders Ability to adapt in dynamic environments and make decisions with limited information Ability to formulate and evaluate plans and procedures for customer relationship and demand management

Preferred: MBA Financial Services industry experience Experience in IT planning and business relationship management Experience in matrix management organizations Experience with product development and management

Pay Transparency

Thrivents long-term growth depends on attracting, rewarding, and retaining people who are committed to helping others thrive with purpose. The applicable salary range for this full-time role is $136,721.00 - $184,976.00 per year, depending on location and experience. The base pay offered will be determined by factors including location, relevant experience, skills, and market demand. Benefits & EEO
