Location: Menlo Park, CA Department: Procurement / Supply Chain Role Summary: Join our procurement team to support sourcing and purchasing of materials, components, and services for medical device manufacturing. Youll process POs, coordinate deliveries, maintain supplier data, and partner cross-functionally to keep builds on schedule and compliant. Responsibilities
Create/maintain purchase orders; track status and expedite as needed. Coordinate deliveries and communicate updates to internal stakeholders. Support supplier onboarding/qualification under guidance of senior buyers. Maintain accurate supplier, contract, and PO documentation. Data & Reporting
Analyze spend, lead times, and supplier performance; support cost-savings projects. Build simple dashboards/reports (e.g., inventory levels, on-time delivery). Assist with market research for new/alternate suppliers. Keep procurement databases and file systems current. Cross-Functional
Partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Manufacturing to understand material needs. Participate in NPI meetings to support material planning and readiness. Assist inventory coordination and support quality investigations with supplier docs. Continuous Learning
Complete training on FDA, ISO 13485, and medical device quality systems. Shadow senior buyers on negotiations, audits, and supplier reviews. Contribute ideas to streamline purchasing processes. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 15 years in procurement/supply chain or closely related function (internships/co-ops welcome). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic familiarity with ERP systems (training provided). Excellent attention to detail, organization, and written/verbal communication. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; professional supplier etiquette. Nice to Have
Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience (FDA/cGMP/ISO 13485). Exposure to supplier audits, CAPA support, or cost-reduction initiatives.
