Overview
Cloud Solution Architect AI Security / Cross Workload join Microsoft's US Public Sector DIB team. The Defense Industrial Base Operating Unit (DIB OU) is focused on consolidating, simplifying, and accelerating Microsoft's presence across the DIB landscape, supporting federal agencies and mission-based organizations with secure, scalable cloud solutions. Responsibilities
Accelerate AI innovation across Microsoft's strategic defense customers. Drive execution of Well-Architected Framework (WAF) assessments such as WARA and WASA for mission-critical workloads. Collaborate on high-side deals, SAP migrations, and Azure AI platform innovation. Engage stakeholders across engineering, sales, and delivery to align on DIB-specific priorities. Support AI-driven process enhancements, including prompting, agentic workflows, and human-in-the-loop design. Drive adoption of Microsoft Defender for Cloud (MDC) and other security products across multi-cloud environments. Design cloud architectures that are robust, scalable, and secure, tailored to customer needs. Lead architectural design sessions to facilitate effective cloud solutions aligned with business goals and technical requirements. Develop proofs of concept and pilots to validate ideas and drive adoption. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure successful implementation and optimization of cloud solutions. Transition customers from legacy systems to modern cloud environments. Thought leadership and stakeholder management to influence large customers in adopting Microsoft technologies. Customer enablement and business acumen, coaching customers on building resilience and translating technical concepts into business value. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 2+ years' experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, or architecture. Deep understanding of Microsoft security products including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and XDR. Experience delivering Enterprise Security Assessments (ESA) and Well-Architected reviews (WARA/WASA). Other Requirements
Cloud Screening: Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background screening (recurring bi-annual). Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: U.S. citizenship required for government-related roles; verification via passport or approved documents or clearance. Preferred Qualifications
5+ years in cloud/infrastructure roles; experience across IT consulting, deployment, architecture, or related. Ability to guide customers through Zero Trust architecture and compliance frameworks. Proven ability to drive outcomes across mission-critical workloads. Strong consultative engagement, problem-solving, and technical delivery skills. Government/defense customer experience valued. Certifications such as SC-100, SC-200, AZ-500, and AI-related certifications (AI-900, Copilot for Security) encouraged. 2+ years in customer-facing roles and experience leading technical sales or success for Microsoft Dynamics 365/Power Platform or similar. DevSecOps knowledge and experience with GitHub or Azure DevOps. Familiarity with NIST standards (800-53, 800-171, 800-172) and CMMC audit/certification requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft Purview Information and Data Security & Governance services or related technologies. Current certifications (examples): Microsoft 365 Administrator, Teams Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF/DoDAF. Pay and Eligibility
The typical base pay range is USD 85,100 169,800 per year across the U.S. Location-based ranges apply for specific locales. In certain locations (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area, New York City metro), base pay ranges are higher (e.g., 112,000 185,300). Benefits and other compensation vary by location.
