Overview
Under the general direction of the Program Manager of Public Advocates Offices Water Branch, the Program and Project Supervisor (PPS) of the SF Section 2 supervises the staff comprised of utilities engineers and regulatory analysts who conduct investigations, develop analyses, make appropriate recommendations in CPUC formal safety proceedings and other forums. Public Advocates Offices Water Branch is responsible for representing ratepayer interests in Commission proceedings addressing the regulation of rates and services of privately owned Class A water utilities. It is also responsible for representing ratepayer interests in Commission proceedings addressing utility ownership transfers, sales of utilities properties, water supply, water quality, and related issues. There are nine Class A water utilities (10,000 service connections or more) comprising 42 ratemaking areas. The incumbent may be assigned projects and duties in other Public Advocates Office branches. Responsibilities
