Position Overview

Burlington is hiring a Director of IT Procurement to lead cross functional teams in developing sourcing strategies to support total spend management goals that align with company strategy, result in strong customer satisfaction, and optimize costs and supplier relations. The Director will influence senior leaders in setting direction for their functional areas by linking sourcing and business strategies in order to optimize business results. You will provide both strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of sourcing and price reduction on all non-merchandise spend. The Director will be a subject matter expert who works independently to develop sourcing and negotiation strategies and direct the execution of those strategies.

We are seeking someone experienced leading large strategic negotiations with key vendors and able to communicate effectively with senior leaders throughout the organization.

A Day In The Life

Drive category management strategies and incremental procurement savings

Create and implement company-wide category strategies to deliver continuous improvement and better value to the business across spend areas worth $250M+ Direct the execution of spend analytics across designated categories, identifying options and opportunities

Build and drive annual savings plans by interfacing and communicating with functional owners and Finance

Oversee sourcing and event execution for respective spend areas

Assess stakeholder needs and objectives, define service-level agreements and specifications, scope sourcing events, identify vendors to include, conduct RFP processes

Act as primary cross-functional leader to interface with business leadership (VPs and SVPs) and drive team development

Partner closely with functional leadership (VPs and SVPs) on all sourcing matters, including: understanding of strategic imperatives and operating plans, jointly setting procurement priorities and savings initiatives, and ensuring procurement is meeting operational needs and realizing maximum savings

Provide leadership, coaching, counseling and support to direct reports to execute day-to-day work and develop category management skill-sets

Lead vendor partnerships and overall governance

Manage vendor selection; proactively manage supplier account managers and contracts to result in enhanced vendor performance

Own high-stakes, complex vendor negotiations to meet Burlington's business targets

Develop and maintain a risk mitigation plan to ensure long-term supply of critical materials and services by assessing overall marketplace and competitor actions

Drive innovation and the identification/development of potential new suppliers and alternate sources for existing/new products

Lead Procurement Operations

Lead the Procurement Operations team for the designated categories of hardware, software, services, professional services, and staff augmentation

Establish rate cards and catalogs for all applicable commodities

Develop and track KPI and other internal performance metrics

You'll Come With

Education:

4 year college degree. MBA strongly desire

Licenses/Certification/Registration:

Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management

15 years+ of sourcing/procurement experience with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility.

10+ years of IT Procurement experience, including vendor negotiations with large tech companies

Experience in Strategic Sourcing to include strong negotiation and supplier management experience.

Candidate must possess a broad knowledge base across multiple categories of purchases and be well versed in sourcing methodology, process and negotiations

Experience with simultaneously and continuously improving customer satisfaction and productivity in the sourcing and supplier management area.

Demonstrated success leading project teams to achieve quantifiable savings by applying sourcing methods.

Retail experience a plus.

PC Proficiency in Microsoft applications: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Reporting and Analysis Tools.

Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Able to manage multiple projects, effectively using multi-disciplinary resources to meet demands.

Must be able to work autonomously, exercise good judgment and take decisive action.

Candidate should possess excellent presentation skills.
