Bixal is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join a cross-functional team tackling urgent, high-priority, technical issues to make our services more reliable. This role focuses on rapid validation, performance testing, and compliance assurance. Youll work in a fast-moving environment where fixes and solutions need to be delivered quickly and with confidence. Youll partner with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to verify that system fixes meet success criteria, reduce technical debt, and improve system stability. Your work will help ensure that critical issues are resolved swiftly and effectively, minimizing risk while improving user experience. Responsibilities

Design and execute rapid QA test cycles to validate fixes for high-priority issues. Conduct functional, regression, load, and performance testing to confirm system reliability and scalability. Verify compliance with Section 508, WCAG 2.2 AA, security, and privacy standards. Collaborate with engineers to reproduce, document, and confirm resolution of critical issues. Validate success criteria for issue resolution and provide clear, plain-language reports to stakeholders. Support incident response and postmortem reviews by testing root cause fixes and validating corrective actions. Integrate QA practices into Agile sprints, contributing to backlog refinement, acceptance criteria, and sprint goal delivery. Set up and continuously improve QA frameworks, automation pipelines, and monitoring practices to support faster resolution cycles. Other relevant duties as assigned, qualified, and trained. Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field plus at least four (4) years of relevant experience Demonstrated progressive experience in QA Engineering Strong background in manual and automated testing across complex systems. Proficiency with automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, JUnit, Jest). Experience with API testing (REST, GraphQL) using tools like Postman. Basic knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, k6). Demonstrated experience verifying compliance with Section 508, WCAG AA. Experience building QA practices in Agile sprint cycles. Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and validate critical system fixes. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Nice To Have Skills And Experience

Experience with federal digital services or large-scale enterprise systems. Familiarity with system integrations across legacy and modern platforms. Experience in security testing and federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP). Strong skills in monitoring, reporting, and metrics-driven QA for enterprise-scale systems. Compensation

The salary range for this role is $110,000 $120,000. In the spirit of transparency, most offers tend to land near the midpoint of the range. Compensation decisions consider your experience, the skills you bring, and internal equity. How We Support Our Team
