We are undertaking several strategic initiatives to enhance and extend our Fixed Income and Equity analytics platforms using the latest technologies. A key focus is building highly scalable and performant systems that adhere to best practices in object-oriented and database design. The Oracle 21c relational database is the foundation for our data and models, supporting advanced analytics and high-volume computations. The Senior Database Developer will design and develop this platform, which is architected as a distributed system of services that manage data-intensive computations across a large compute environment. This position requires strong expertise in database development, system optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a Java-centric environment leveraging modern messaging systems and data tools. Responsibilities
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define functional and technical design requirements. Collaborate with software engineering teams and senior leadership to deliver robust and scalable database solutions. Develop and optimize physical relational data models on Oracle 21c. Design, implement, and maintain stored procedures, functions, packages, and performance tuning strategies. Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and adherence to best practices in database development. Contribute to distributed system design for large-scale computation and analytics. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Experience: 8+ years of experience in database development with Oracle or similar RDBMS. Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning, and database design principles. Experience with distributed systems, data modeling, and high-performance computing environments. Familiarity with Java or other object-oriented programming languages. Hands-on experience with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, JMS) preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. What We Offer
