The company was founded by Pasquale Rotella and has been based in Los Angeles since it was formed in 1993.**THE ROLE**Insomniac is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help shape the technology powering some of the worlds biggest live experiences. Youll design and build backend systems that support e-commerce, ticketing, and fan engagement, while working closely with our internal and offshore teams. **RESPONSIBILITIES*** Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Go.* Design and optimize APIs (REST & GraphQL) to support apps and websites.* Integrate and manage third-party services (Stripe, Braintree, Cloudflare, etc.).* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.* Monitor and troubleshoot systems with modern observability tools.* Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable and innovative solutions.**QUALIFICATIONS*** 5+ years as a backend engineer in e-commerce or related industries* 3+ years of experience with Go (required)* Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven systems* Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, and SQL databases (Postgres preferred)* Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Linux/Unix)* Experience writing automated tests (unit tests, integration tests, browser / E2E) (required)* Fluent in Git workflow (branching, merging, tagging, cherry picking)* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset* Bonus: Experience in ticketing, travel, or hospitality industries* Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes for orchestration and Redis for caching* Bonus: Experience configuring and managing Cloudflare services, including DNS, CDN, caching, and security features**WORK ENVIRONMENT*** Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments* May work in drastic temperature climates* Must be willing to travel to work events during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlinesApplicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by Insomniac for a visa.**EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY**We aspire to build teams that reflect and support the fans and artists we serve.
