Travel Level 1 trauma and Siemens experience is required nnUnder general supervision and following established procedures, operates CT equipment (e.g. CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, Patient monitoring devices, etc.) to acquire images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Staff will be required to float among radiology clinics and divisions associated with BWH as needed. ntOperates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information according to departmental protocol. In doing so, ensures the patient is properly prepared, positioned, immobilized and uses protective shield on the patient as needed. Selects proper imaging factors, and images the designated portion(s) of the body.nn2}ttExplains exam to patient taking into consideration physical and emotional needs; maintains ethical standards (patient confidentiality, professional conduct, etc.).nDelivers patient care under scope of license / training.nn3}tTo maintain effective working relations and communication with departmental and other hospital personnel, i.e. professional, nursing, etc.nn4}tCalibrate and verify the operation of all equipment to be used during the work day.nTo notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed.n n5} Execute paperwork and Radiology Information System functions as necessary for each patient exam (e.g. schedule exam, complete exam, transfer images to PACS, etc.).n6}ttPerforms venipuncture for purposes of contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist. Follow all hospital and departmental contrast administration policies and procedures.n7}tAttend staff meetings, in-services, and maintains appropriate CEU's in accordance with Massachusetts State Licensure and A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) requirements.n8}ttMay oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students (medical radiography, CT, nuclear medicine) within the department.n9}tPrepare the equipment room and supplies necessary for each patient and regular daily use. Stock and supply room as needed.n10}ttTo acknowledge and participate in research programs, quality assurance and quality improvement projects carried on in the department (i.e. cost containment).n11}tTo assume responsibilities for on-call coverage and to remain flexible in all shift coverage and overtime situations as necessary.n12}ttRotates within department, divisions and all off site clinics, by shifts as required and needed; cooperates with all personnel, promoting harmony within departmentn13}tTransport and transfer patients using established procedures according to departmental guidelines.n14}tUses independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations when performing patient exams.n15}tPerforms all other duties as directed.nnMust be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic technology; possess a current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license and be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.n2.ttBe Registered or eligible for certification in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent is required. Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT or equivalent CT certification and registration within one year of start of employment.n n3.t2-3 years experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses.nMust have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and / or emotional stress.n2}tMust possess analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, and procedures and cross sectional anatomy.
