KKCS seeks an experienced
Project Control Scheduler
for a full-time, hybrid position supporting PG&E projects. The role will support electric transmission and distribution substation projects, working closely with Project Managers and other functional teams. Reporting to PG&E offices in the Bay Area a few times a week. This is a hybrid, W2 contract position. Position Description Summary
Support PG&E projects with focus on project controls scheduling, cost forecasting, and reporting. This role involves reporting to PG&E offices in the Bay Area a few times per week and works on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities
Develop project schedules and cash flow/forecast plans with input from functional departments in coordination with the Project Manager. Attend project kickoff and site meetings; create, maintain, and update resource-loaded schedules. Document, monitor, and communicate project milestones and risks with stakeholders. Participate in project status meetings; collect progress and risk data to revise schedules and risk registers as needed. Monitor financial progress and assist with the Project Managers budget and cost controls. Prepare cost reports and maintain forecast accuracy. Develop and maintain schedules using SAP Project System, SAP Work Management System, and Primavera P6.
Cost Plan Development And Analysis
Use cost and schedule plans to determine achievability of project objectives; create and maintain monthly forecast budgets. Prepare cost reports, performance analyses, and variance explanations; ensure responses reflect accurate cost information and are approved by stakeholders. Interface with design and planning resources and software systems; prepare journal entries and coordinate goods receipts as applicable. Input data into relevant programs and prepare forecasting reports.
Project Documentation & Reporting
Verify milestones and identify process improvements; manage orders and document control in the current system (e.g., EDMS). Resolve open items, ensure compliance requirements are met, and maintain change logs and project records. Provide monthly cost and schedule status reports to the Project Manager and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with utility policies, standards, and guidelines.
Quality And Analysis
Prepare monthly and weekly project management and performance reports; validate data sets. Support process improvement initiatives within Project Management; fulfill ad-hoc cost-related data requests.
Qualifications And Skills
3-10 years of scheduling experience. Construction experience on complex projects (>$25M). Ability to build a schedule from scratch with input from engineering, PM, and construction teams. Ability to explain variances, delays, and monitor contractor schedules. Bachelors degree from an accredited college. Proficient in Primavera P6; Cost Analysis and SAP experience. Self-starter; PMP certification is a plus.
