The Director of the Office of Academic Integrity serves as the campus leader and culture-builder to foster and uphold the integrity of the academic enterprise. The position provides leadership and coordination to the academic integrity processes at Tulane University. The Director is the single point of contact for the University on all matters related to academic integrity among undergraduates. Academic integrity includes all matters pertaining to student cheating, plagiarism, and other violations of the Code of Academic Conduct. The position requires an individual who is self-motivated and understands the importance of process, as well as demonstrates a passion for student development. The Director manages the administration of adjudication, policies, procedures, and prevention efforts for the academic misconduct process. This position is responsible for maintaining the Code of Academic Conduct, including overseeing revisions, as well as ensuring compliance. The Director engages extensively with students, faculty, and parents, as well as campus partners in Student Affairs (including Student Conduct, Greek programs, and Case Management), Academic Advising, the Registrar, General Counsel, and other offices as relevant.
The Director reports to the Associate Dean of College Curriculum and Policy in Newcomb-Tulane College and coordinates with the Faculty Chair of the Honor Board. • Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay on deadlines.
• Advanced Degree in student affairs administration, educational policy, law, or related field. • 2 years of experience in academic integrity and/or student conduct in higher education.
• 5 years of experience in academic or student conduct.
• Ability to navigate complex campus structures and contexts with political acumen to effect institutional change.
• Experience in training students and faculty in policies and procedures.
• Experience in writing and amending policies.
• Experience in data management and presentation, including Salesforce and Maxient systems.
• Experience in a national or international academic integrity community of professionals.
