Job Description The Material Handler is primarily responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock and other duties as requested or required.
Essential Duties
Receive and track items from receipt to production/assembly. Track and document the movement of inventory items through the production process. Tag and label items to ensure inventory accuracy. Pick and issue items required for production/assembly. Pick and prepare all orders for shipment: Box, wrap, and pack the merchandise by relevant procedures and standards. Record and manage all impaired or damaged merchandise items. Operate adequate inventory management tools (i.e. forklift, hand truck, etc.). Enter data in inventory and logistics software programs. Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested. Qualifications
Ability to operate a fork truck and overhead crane. Ability to adapt methods and ideas to attain continuous improvement. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to read, analyze, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines. Hands-on experience with inventory and logistics software programs.
Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents. Have a valid driver's license.
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of experience in inventory control or in a warehouse or stockroom
