Machine Maintenance Technician
to join our maintenance team in Mansfield, Ohio. As a
Machine Maintenance Technician , you'll be responsible for ensuring all machinery and mechanical equipment operate in optimal working order. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a critical hands-on role in maintaining the equipment that produces IDEAL's specialty electric machines. We're looking for someone who is reliable, proactive, and takes pride in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting that keeps production moving.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Diagnose faulty performance, adjust and/or dismantle equipment as required to repair or replace defective part; reassemble equipment performing cleaning and heating as required
Load and unload trucks bearing machine maintenance equipment and install equipment as needed
Install, replace, or repair pipeline systems, including valving
Replace belts, drain and refill hydraulic oil supply systems, lubricate equipment
Repair hydraulic and pneumatic power tools
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment according to PM schedules
May perform basic electrical work
Fabricate repair parts and rebuild equipment as needed
Determine tools and parts to be ordered for repairs
Build safety guards, cabinets, shelving, benches, tables, counters, pallets, and platforms
Perform both rough and finished carpentry including varnish, paint or stain
Maintain building and grounds, sewers, fire-fighting equipment, fencing and other barriers
Maintain restroom equipment
May operate a crane or forklift, or drive a company vehicle in the performance of duties
Ability to use the following: band, cutoff, power, and hack saws, carpentry hand tools, jointer,
sander, transit and level, measuring tools, wood turning lathe, drill press, shrink rule, router,
roller, forklift, hand truck, crane, power hoist, jack, nailer, stapler, banding equipment, portable
power tools, tractor, back hoe, jack hammer, milling machine, engine lathe with 18” max. sharpener,
pipe threader, hand break, hand tools, heating and soldering torches, iron worker, safety lock outs,
paint and chemical sprayer
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or certified equivalent
Minimum three years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, equipment, and tools in a heavy manufacturing environment
Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
Working knowledge and experience in basic plumbing and electrical disciplines
Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
Technical literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite, and ERP and CRM software
Teamwork approach with excellent communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Machine maintenance course training certifications or education in a related field
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS
Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40 hour minimum
Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights
This position generally operates in the manufacturing areas of the facility
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers/printers, and phones
REQUIREMENTS & DISCLOSURES
Must maintain a driving record that is acceptable for coverage under the company’s insurance plan.
