Role Overview

This role supports Kansas City Site 4 AI, which operates four active ingredient manufacturing lines for the Crop Science business. Due to recent turnover and high activity levels, there is a backlog of action items, documentation updates, and improvement projects. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional technical and operational teams to help clear this backlog while also identifying and implementing process, reliability, and training improvements.

This position is focused on

mid- to long-term initiatives

rather than daily operations, providing the opportunity to contribute directly to sustainable improvements across the site. Each day brings variety, with exposure to different engineers, technical experts, and support staff. For candidates who enjoy problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous learning, this role offers meaningful challenges and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with site technical and operational teams to resolve outstanding

PHA, MOC, optimization, and process-related action items

across 1–4 chemical processes.

Support

environmental compliance

through technical definition, validation, and reporting of data required for permitting and annual reporting.

Review, revise, and improve

plant documentation , including startup/shutdown procedures, normal operations instructions, and P&IDs.

Define, document, and execute

pressure safety design packages .

Partner with plant engineering to scope and plan

process and reliability improvement projects .

Contribute to

enhancements in training programs

for plant operations.

Role Details

Location:

Onsite at Kansas City, MO (local candidates only).

Work Schedule:

40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM start; 6-month contract with possible extension (no conversion).

Work Environment:

Manufacturing site; requires use of PPE (hard hat, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses—all provided). Dress code is casual.

Travel/Driving:

None required.

Training:

Limited formal training; mainly on-the-job (a couple of days).

Candidate Profile

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience:

5+ years in process measurement, manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environments.

Knowledge:

Chemical processes, OSHA PSM/EPA RMP compliance, and risk management techniques.

Soft Skills:

Strong communicator, collaborative, humble, approachable, and open to continuous learning.
