Waymo’s Marketing team connects people with the magic and impact of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, developing marketing strategy, positioning, messaging, and creative assets across channels to grow Waymo’s brand and user base. Responsibilities
Community Management - Manage all facets of Waymo’s online community engagement, including proactive monitoring, customer advocacy, alerts, and, in partnership with agency and PR, professional crisis response. Content Planning - Own the day-to-day content calendar and plan for Waymo’s social media channels, including concepting, copywriting, visual assets, and production, ensuring content aligns with Waymo’s brand expression on social media platforms. Social Strategy - Contribute to the overall social media strategy by providing platform-specific insights, creative performance analysis, and capitalizing on trending moments in the cultural landscape. Accountability - Own performance tracking, optimization, reporting, and analytics for all social content and campaigns, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior leadership. Qualifications
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience as a social media manager, content strategist, or similar role, preferably in-house for a major technology or consumer brand. Expert-level knowledge of major social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, X) and their content strategies, metrics, and best practices. Exceptional writing and editorial skills with a strong portfolio of impactful social media content and the ability to manage and deliver complex, high-visibility projects from concept to completion. Proven ability to manage resources (vendors/contractors) to scale community management and ensure 24/7 coverage and swift escalation when needed. Advanced proficiency with social listening, content management, and analytics tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Google Analytics). We Prefer
Experience in the autonomous vehicles, technology, or automotive industry. Demonstrated success in managing social media platforms during a crisis or high-visibility scenario. Experience and/or understanding of social customer care and the rapid, empathetic resolution of public and private customer support inquiries across social channels. Experience managing budgets for social media content and/or paid promotion. Travel Requirements
Limited travel required Team off-site (2x a year) Production/shoots as needed Salary and Benefits The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements. Salary Range:
$204,000—$259,000 USD
