Job Summary
The Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role plays a critical part in minimizing stock discrepancies, supporting timely order fulfillment, and ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be highly organized, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Primary Duties
Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances
Verify inventory quantities and locations
Update inventory records in inventory management system
Use of RF handheld device
Operate motorized industrial equipment
Collaborate with purchasing, receiving and production teams to ensure inventory accuracy
Monitor Inventory for obsolescence or damage product
Assist in handling of returns or quarantined inventory
Assist with receiving, stocking, labeling, and organizing materials and products
Support order picking and packing processes when required to ensure timely order fulfillment
Inventory layout optimization for efficient storage and retrieval of inventory
Track inventory movements, adjustments, and transfers between locations
Operate and update inventory control systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
Provide feedback and inventory insights to internal teams to improve forecasting and replenishment planning.
Follow all safety protocols and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Participate in warehouse audits, process improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings
Ensure inventory storage areas are clearly labeled, accessible, and safe
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to inventory control
Operate within standard operating procedures
Maintain neat, clean and well-organized work area
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Excellent math, counting, and analytical skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to identify and resolve inventory-related problems independently
Proven track record of accuracy, safety, and reliability
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team setting
Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience using inventory systems (e.g., SAP preferred) and handheld RF devices
Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred but not required
Good performance, accuracy, and safety records – no active warnings in file
Good Attendance
Ability to lift, pack and stack up to 50 pounds in proper manner
Self-motivated & detail oriented
Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to pass the motorized industrial equipment test and obtain license/certification
Ability to adapt, accepts, and promotes changes while encouraging a team environment to achieve business goals
Physical Requirement:
Ability to lift, carry, pack, and stack up to 50 lbs. in a safe and proper manner
Capability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and twist for extended periods
Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and devices as needed
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this Job, the contributor is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; bend; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. The contributor is frequently required to reach, push, pull and lift with hands and arms.
Warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures (may be hot/cold depending on season)
Exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and dust
Required to wear safety equipment and follow all company safety guidelines
Education / Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
