Searching for a Program Director for Maker Labs!
Maker Labs (a Method Family company) is seeking a systems-savvy, people-first Program Director to own the launch and delivery of our After-School Enrichment (ASE) programs and Summer Camps across East Bay schools. You’ll recruit and train part-time instructors, coordinate schedules and rooms, prepare materials, and communicate with schools and parents—so every class runs smoothly and kids leave inspired.

Job Type: Part-time (15–20 hrs/wk) with path to full-time
Compensation: Base retainer $1,500–$2,000/mo during a 90-day ramp + performance bonuses (below). Guaranteed draw floor $25–$30/hr equivalent up to 20 hrs/wk during ramp (reconciled against bonuses). Typical stabilized OTE $3,000–$3,500/mo during the school year, depending on launches, margins, and quality metrics.

Responsibilities
Own ASE & Camp launches and renewals: secure dates/rooms, create listings on company sites and enrollment software, set rosters and seat caps.
Recruit, hire, and train part-time instructors; maintain 1.8× coverage (primary + trained sub) for every class.
Operationalize curriculum: ensure lesson plans and materials bins are prepped; manage day-of arrival/dismissal and room logistics.
Parent & school communications: kickoff, reminders, mid-term check, and wrap-up; target ≥90% parent satisfaction.
Program P&L ownership: watch attendance, instructor hours, room fees, and materials to keep ≥50% gross margin (after instructor + room + materials).
Weekly operating cadence: run a daily 10-minute standup and a weekly 30-minute KPI review; aim for zero avoidable cancellations.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience in program/operations leadership (schools, camps, enrichment, childcare, events, or similar high-tempo ops).
Ability to recruit part-time/seasonal staff and comfort leading group interviews.
Proficient with Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, calendar management, and creating clear SOPs.
Excellent written/verbal communication with schools, parents, and instructors; calm under pressure.
Weekday afternoons (≈2–5 pm) available for on-site support; some mornings for scheduling/admin.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to East Bay partner schools.
Able to lift/move up to ~25 lbs (materials bins); background check required by school partners.
Nice to Have
Classroom or camp leadership; youth program safety protocols.
STEM/creative curriculum familiarity and materials kitting experience.
Basic QuickBooks exposure (bill/time approvals) and comfort with simple KPI dashboards.
Compensation, Schedule, and Growth
Base: $1,500–$2,000/mo during the 90-day ramp (target 15–20 hrs/wk; base depends on experience).
Launch bonus: $150 per program that starts on time, fully staffed (primary + sub), with materials kits ready.
Quality bonus: $200 per program for zero cancellations and ≥90% parent satisfaction.
Draw floor: Guaranteed $25–$30/hr equivalent up to 20 hrs/wk during ramp (reconciled against bonuses).
Paid training and a path to full-time Program Manager as we scale.
Schedule: Part-time 15–20 hrs/week to start (school-year weighted to afternoons). Summer hours increase to full-time (≈40 hrs/wk) during camp season (June & July).
Background Check: Employment contingent on successful checks and meeting school partner requirements.
