Orthopedics Key Responsibilities: Prepare patient and treatment rooms; ensure sterilization of medical equipment. Room patients, gather health history, and document vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, weight). Document patient care and medical history using NextGen electronic medical record (EMR) software. Assist physicians with minor, in-office procedures. Schedule appointments, manage prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls, and complete necessary paperwork. Perform CLIA waived testing. Administer injections or treatments and conduct routine laboratory tests. Maintain adherence to Health and Safety Standards. Complete Medical Assistant Certification Procedure by obtaining certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA) within 9 months of employment.

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate, or certification, or 1+ years of relevant experience, or current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant training program, or active EMT certification. Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA) or willingness to obtain within 9 months of employment. Preferred Qualifications: Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA). CPR certification. Additional healthcare certifications (ARRT, CEHRS, CBCS, CMAA, CPT). Experience as an MA or EMT in a primary care setting. Proficiency with NextGen or other EMR software. Experience in performing medical back-office tasks (injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis, medication administration). Experience in medical front office tasks (scheduling, prior authorizations, medication refills, referrals). Compensation is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
