Warehouse Associate
Warehouse associate position available at Edward Don & Company in Atlanta, Norcross, GA. This full-time role requires the ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker; ability to lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift, ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time; ability to successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements; and ability to operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas. Essential duties include accurately selecting/picking merchandise from assigned slot and confirming the correct quantity and unit of measure, loading merchandise into appropriate truck, dropping merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots, preparing VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines, repacking loose merchandise for shipping/delivery, verifying quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy, accurately adhering to Warehouse Labor Standard, "Preferred Method Standard", identifying and reporting slot and put-away problems, shrink wrapping merchandise/pallets after picking as needed, performing housekeeping duties as assigned, and performing other duties as assigned. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, previous knowledge of SAP, one year warehouse experience, and previous forklift certification. Six months of previous warehouse experience and/or training is preferred. Material handling equipment experience is preferred, and reach truck experience is a plus. Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a functional capacity test. The work environment is typically performed in a warehouse/operations environment, frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment. This is a full-time position that may require shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. The position does not require travel.
