Job Description The Vice President (VP) will be a key member of the deal team, focusing on equity-led buyout transactions. This individual will lead deal execution, support sourcing through independent sponsor partnerships, and work closely with founders and management teams post-investment. The role requires exceptional financial modeling skills and strong interpersonal presence. Responsibilities Deal Origination & Sourcing:
Lead and quarterback deals end-to-end, managing diligence, stakeholder coordination, and investment committee processes. Identify and develop new investment opportunities through networking, conferences, and intermediary relationships. Collaborate with industry experts to develop sector-specific investment theses. Maintain and leverage a network of investment bankers, advisors, and other intermediaries. Lead and coordinate the deal process from diligence to closing, including financial modeling, valuation, and negotiation. Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, industry trends, and market dynamics. Manage relationships with legal, tax, and financial advisors during the execution process. Oversee the preparation of investment committee materials and present findings to senior leadership. Work closely with portfolio companies to drive growth, operational improvement, and strategic initiatives. Monitor KPIs and financial performance across portfolio companies. Support exit strategies through preparation for sale, IPO, or strategic partnership. Mentor and develop Analysts and Associates on the deal team. Collaborate with internal teams (investor relations, finance, legal) to align strategy and processes. Maintain a robust pipeline of potential investment opportunities and prioritize resources accordingly. Maintain relationships with industry experts, advisors, and potential management teams. (Role context described above) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred but not required. Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience, including time in private equity, independent sponsor, investment banking, or transaction advisory. Diverse industry exposure across multiple sectors. Proven ability to lead deal execution, including modeling, valuation, and negotiations. Exceptional financial modeling and technical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; must be able to build trust with founders and independent sponsors. Entrepreneurial mindset, maturity, and cultural fit. Ability to juggle multiple live deals in a fast-paced, lean-team environment.
