You are an experienced water treatment process engineer with experience working on environmental investigation and remediation projects. You are a highly detailed, strategic thinker who thrives on the challenges of complex, interdisciplinary systems, and environmental matters. You have experience with remedial design and implementation, report writing, client communication, data evaluation, and field investigation. We are currently seeking a mid-to-senior-level Engineer. The desired candidate will be a detail-oriented team player who can provide technical support to client projects, mentoring junior staff, and business development efforts as part of our growing environmental practice. This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidates location and the needs of the organization. Responsibilities
Drafting engineering designs for water treatment processes to mitigate various environmental contaminants Preparing design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for remedial actions Procuring and managing subcontractors (e.g., engineering subcontractors, construction contractors, drillers, laboratories) Supporting, performing, or leading site characterization studies, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and engineering evaluations on contaminated soil, groundwater, and sediment remediation and drinking water treatment projects Providing support for permit applications Overseeing construction quality assurance Supporting litigation or allocation matters Managing projects and tasks Communicating technical information to varied audiences (e.g., clients, staff, regulators, and stakeholders), including writing technical reports Qualifications
Candidates should hold a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in environmental, chemical, or civil engineering 5+ years of professional experience in environmental investigation and remediation Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or an E.I.T. certification with the ability to obtain a P.E. license within 1 year Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training certification Demonstrated experience with water treatment process engineering design, implementation, operation, and/or optimization Experience with the use of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, advanced Excel, and/or 3D visualization and graphics applications to support engineering evaluations and designs Experience developing cost estimates for investigation and remediation actions Willingness to travel and work in the field frequently Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Excellent written and oral communication skills A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally Possess strong organizational abilities Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers Preferred additional qualifications
Experience managing contractors at environmental remediation sites Demonstrated experience with the New Jersey Contaminated Site Remediation & Redevelopment Program Experience with remedial investigation, design, and implementation, including sampling plan development and implementation, data analysis, and remedy/process design and construction for environmental media such as soil, groundwater, sediment, indoor air, wastewater, and drinking water. Experience collecting and interpreting geotechnical sampling data on soil or sediment Experience performing and interpreting groundwater, surface water, or stormwater modeling Experience supporting permit applications for water treatment and environmental remediation construction activities (e.g., under NPDES, UIC, municipal building codes, sewer permitting) Seniority level
