Overview

We are actively seeking a Principal RF Engineering SME to join our team supporting advanced Air Force aircraft mission systems within the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE). The position is at Nellis Air Force Base, NV. This role involves applying deep RF engineering expertise to the development and test of digital models of RF systems on modern tactical military aircraft, utilizing the JSE as a high-fidelity testbed. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of RF hardware and software technologies and provide high-level technical guidance to ensure fidelity within the JSE. The role requires oversight of complex integration and test activities. Responsibilities

RF System Expertise & Technical Guidance & Cross Functional Collaboration:

Apply advanced principles related to RF systems on Air Force aircraft, including radar, electronic warfare (EW), countermeasures, and signal processing. Experience with Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars and integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Systems (IDEWS) and their integration with aircraft navigation and targeting solutions is highly valued. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, squadron leadership, and customer organizations on best practices for RF model development and testing within the JSE. Work with Operations, Integration, and Program Management teams during simulation event planning, execution, anomaly investigation, and reporting. Advise and assist scenario developers by interpreting user requirements. Stay informed on developing RF payloads and systems for U.S. and foreign aircraft. Apply high-fidelity physics-based models of RF propagation, antenna patterns, signal processing chains, and countermeasures within the JSE to represent real-world RF system behavior. Provide expertise in modeling and simulating diverse RF threats and countermeasures for effective red teaming within the JSE. Test & Evaluation Support:

Develop test strategies, concepts, objectives, measures of performance, and test methodologies related to RF simulation events in the JSE. Define data requirements for RF systems under test/training, including threat and environmental measurement systems. Provide content for test support plans and data analysis plans to ensure useful test and training outcomes. Make hardware and software recommendations as needed and provide control room test support in the engineering discipline. Develop real-time data monitoring displays for data analysis. Analyze RF-related data, assess system performance, develop conclusions and recommendations, and generate report-quality data products and technical documentation. Security and Classification Management for RF Data:

Maintain expert knowledge of security classification guides (SCGs) and data handling protocols for classified RF system performance data and simulation outputs, ensuring strict compliance in all JSE operations and reporting. Leadership & Communication:

Function as a leader and problem solver with the ability to deliver results in a high-profile, fast-paced environment. Effectively communicate complex results with management and executive leadership through clear, concise, and technically accurate oral and written presentations. Qualifications & Education

Experience:

Minimum of 9+ years of related experience with RF systems in a research, development, or test environment. Current and comprehensive RF experience with military aircraft mission systems is essential. Expertise in RF engineering including RF signal processing designs, antenna/receiver/transmitter modeling and analysis techniques, EW data systems, and EW system design, integration, and testing. Experience with radar and/or EW hardware and software is required. Thorough knowledge of DoD Test & Evaluation processes within major acquisition programs. Demonstrated experience in developing and applying test measures and advanced test techniques for RF and mission systems. Ability to interface with high-level Systems Engineering leads for radar or EW equipment and countermeasures development, integration, and testing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with MS Windows and Linux OS. Desired Qualifications:

15+ years of RF systems experience on military aircraft is highly desired. Specific experience with 5th Generation aircraft and emerging RF and EW systems is strongly preferred. Knowledge of threat radar systems including RF signal processing. Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures and/or Cognitive EW concepts and their integration into complex simulations. Experience with Integrated Master Schedules and risk management. Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS). Proven experience in delivering professional instruction or training to technical audiences. Education:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other engineering/technical discipline relevant to RF engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required. Or a Bachelors degree with relevant career & job-related experience. Masters degree in an Engineering field is desired; additional experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. Clearance:

Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility and willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph is required. Candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment. Travel:

Up to 30% travel may be required to support customer testing events or related activities within the continental United States. U.S. Citizenship:
