Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment used in steel plate and steel coil manufacturing. This includes plasma tables, steel coil lines, and some PM work on forklifts. The role involves spending 75% of the time in the production area, conducting preventive maintenance and addressing equipment breakdowns. Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance on plant equipment, including lubrication, monitoring, repairing, preventive maintenance, and inspections. Inform relevant personnel if additional resources are required for maintenance tasks. Complete work orders and identify potential equipment problems to initiate improvement projects. Communicate with operators to ensure a smooth operation flow and detect equipment problems or concerns. Employees also benefit from profit sharing. Work Environment: The work schedule is 4x10 Monday-Thursday from 2:20 PM to 12:50 AM, with initial training on the first shift from 6 AM to 4:30 PM. The role requires being on-call approximately once a month. The work environment is industrial, within a very large warehouse built to accommodate shipbuilding. While the facility is sheltered from the elements, it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter due to constantly opening and closing doors. Temperature control is limited. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
