Sr. Robotics Engineer (Warehouse AGV & ASRS) Onsite in Buffalo Grove, IL (Relocating to Libertyville, IL in 2026). Our goal is to incorporate cutting-edge Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in our new warehouse to optimize efficiency and productivity. Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert to oversee the selection, implementation, and operation of ASRS and AGV systems for our new Libertyville plant. This individual will initially work from our Buffalo Grove facility, engaging in strategic planning and system development to ensure a seamless transition to the new site. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise with ASRS and AGV technology, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and high-level stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for ASRS and AGV systems, leading the development and integration of these technologies into the Libertyville facility. Collaborate with leadership to select suitable ASRS and AGV suppliers, analyzing system capabilities and requirements to optimize plant efficiency. Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of ASRS and AGV systems, ensuring compliance with project timelines and performance standards. Ensure systems operate at full capacity once the new facility becomes operational, with a focus on long-term reliability and effectiveness. Act as the main liaison between the company and high-profile vendors, clients, and directors, managing presentations and fostering strong working relationships. Develop and execute strategies to maximize the efficiency of automated systems, staying abreast of the latest industry advancements and technologies. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Extensive hands-on experience working with ASRS and AGV systems in a warehouse environment. Demonstrated expertise in working with ASRS vendors such as Hytrol, Swisslog, Schaefer, Knapp, Muratec, or Southworth. Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee system implementation projects from concept to completion. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, vendors, and high-profile clients.
