Our client is seeking a highly skilled
Cloud Security Engineer
to join our team in New York. This role is fully onsite (MondayFriday) and will play a critical part in securing our cloud infrastructure, applications, and data across multiple environments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where security and resilience are top priorities. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage security controls across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments. Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and best practices. Build and maintain automated security solutions (IaC, CI/CD pipelines, policy-as-code). Monitor cloud infrastructure for threats, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations. Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and engineering teams to embed security in application development and deployment. Lead incident response and forensic investigations related to cloud infrastructure. Conduct risk assessments, penetration testing, and security audits of cloud-based systems. Provide expert guidance on identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data protection in the cloud. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on cloud security. Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong knowledge of cloud-native security tools (e.g., GuardDuty, Security Hub, Defender for Cloud, Prisma Cloud). Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, Terraform, CloudFormation). Deep understanding of IAM, zero-trust principles, and container/Kubernetes security. Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, etc.). Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Relevant certifications (CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer) a plus. Why Join Us?
