Reporting to the Sr. Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will partner with department leaders (e.g., Warehouse/Transportation/Corporate) to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of HR processes, policies, and services. Duties include coaching leaders, anticipating needs in organization design, performance management, employee relations, hiring, onboarding, communication, and training. Responsibilities
Conducts HRBP 1:1s with supervisors and managers, acting as a trusted partner, confidant, and coach. Responds to employee relations issues for supervisors and managers. Collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for existing and open positions, aligning job descriptions. Partner with leaders to understand workforce plans and collaborate with Talent Acquisition to facilitate job postings, screening, interview coordination, background checks, onboarding, and the hiring of qualified applicants. Perform routine HR tasks including benefits and leave administration; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, morale; occupational health and safety; and assist with development of corporate, department, and individual training. Facilitate and/or support the delivery of training as needed (e.g., compliance, manager training, compensation, etc.). Compose and distribute written communications to employees on topics such as benefits, policy updates, and COVID protocols. Help facilitate employee engagement and team-building activities. Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; refer complex or sensitive matters to appropriate staff. Develop plans for new hire orientation and onboarding; oversee employee Paid Time Off (answer questions, run reports, etc.). Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Ensure HRIS and data reflect accurate state of the company and employees; maintain knowledge of trends and regulatory changes in HR, payroll, talent management, and employment law. Assist with development of employee engagement activities; work with new employees from acquisitions to develop standardized onboarding and communication. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies to maintain compliance. Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director. Proven experience in HR. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent time management with ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate. Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality; solid knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; experience preparing and processing employee payroll; experience administering employee benefits, including Open Enrollment. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems. Requirements & Skills
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field required, and/or equivalent work experience. Four years of professional HR administration experience, including two years in employee relations preferred (or equivalent through training, education, and other experience). SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. Spanish fluency is required due to front-line support and collaboration with Spanish-speaking team members. Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment preferred. Hybrid schedule 4 days a week in office (sedentary work).
