Job Overview

This role is focused on enhancing our security posture through collaboration, monitoring, policy development, implementation, maintenance, and cross-functional support. Practitioners require a well-rounded understanding of both general IT and Cybersecurity principles and practices, and is comfortable working across various domains.

While our team works closely across platforms and functions to achieve commons goals, applicant should be able to focus on and come to "own" certain processes, while being supported by the rest of the team.

This position will focus sharply on vulnerability management, including detection, prioritization, and remediation individually, with a team, or by assigning to other responsible groups in IT.

Broader, Goup-Shared Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support various cybersecurity functions, systems and/or platforms including but not limited to: threat monitoring, threat hunting, vulnerability detection & management, compliance and incident response.
  • Roll out, utilize, and maintain various cybersecurity tools and/or platforms such as antivirus, SIEM, and patch management platforms. Scripting, coding and query-building as-needed to identify and validate or verify efficacy.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain Golden Images for secure and consistent system provisioning.
  • Assist in the maintenance and configuration of security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
  • Conduct basic assessments and audits to identify potential security gaps.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to implement security best practices.
  • Participate in security awareness training and internal education initiatives.
  • Help document processes, procedures, and policies related to cybersecurity.
  • Support incident response activities and provide investigation of security alerts or events.
  • Stay informed about emerging security trends and risks relevant to our environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, patching and software deployment strategies.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security tools and compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Mac patching is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Experience working in an IT environment with 500+ endpoints.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or KACE-related certifications.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in IT support or system administration
  • Hands-on experience with SEIM, antivirus or other Cybersecurity Platforms is a plus.
  • A degree in Information Technology related field of study is not required but is strongly preferred.
