Job Description:
Essential Job Functions
Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects
Assist in the professional growth and mentorship of team members through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning
Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments
Manage project tasks and assignments, helping to prioritize and plan work to meet project goals
Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, working to resolve issues as they arise
Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
Contribute to software development projects by writing, testing, and debugging code, under the guidance of senior team members
Collaborate with the team to meet project objectives, actively participating in code reviews and design discussions
Assist in the documentation of software requirements and specifications, striving for clear and effective communication
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, seeking guidance and mentorship
Learn and adapt to software development practices and methodologies, actively participating in training programs
Contribute to the implementation of best practices and emerging technologies
Collaborate with team members to enhance your understanding of software architecture and design
Contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and learning environment
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) is required
1-2 years of relevant Mainframe application developer experience is mandatory
Oracle Documaker experience in the insurance industry will be preferred
Proficiency in 1 or more software programming languages: CICS and/or Cobol are required
Development methodologies: Waterfall and/or Agile are required
Coding and debugging skills are required
Effective communication and collaboration abilities
Strong problem-solving mindset
Willingness to learn and adapt to the field
Good technical and analytical skill
Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills
Time management and multitasking ability
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work well within a team
Preferred Diplomas / Studies/ Certifications:
Any exposure or certification in Life and Annuity Insurance domain will be preferred
LOMA is preferred
Certifications in AWS, Azure or other Cloud technologies
Work Environment:
All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
Our address is: 6901 Windcrest Dr, D2-1E-76, Plano, TX 75024. This position is hybrid and may require 2 days commute to our office. Candidates must live within a 20-25 miles commutable distance
Our operational hours are 7:30 am to 10pm. ET Monday – Friday.
