Night, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Block schedules are not available. Key Responsibilities & Required Skills
Patient Care:
Provide care to neonate and adult patients in a 15-bed L&D unit. Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2 on all shifts. Labor and Delivery Management:
Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and recover C-section patients. Antepartum Care:
Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients. Medication Administration:
Administer anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips. Professional Skills:
Use external fetal heart monitoring (EFM), maintain central lines (CVC/PICC), and perform IV therapy/phlebotomy. Additional Duties:
Adhere to isolation precautions and use proper PPE. Requirements
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of recent L&D experience is required. Travel experience is not a prerequisite. Patient Ratio Experience:
Must be comfortable with a 1:2 patient ratio. Licensure & Certifications:
A valid New Mexico or compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license is required at the time of submission.
Required Certifications:
ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP. Preferred Certifications:
AWHONN Advanced.
Charting System:
Experience with any charting system is acceptable. Weekend Coverage:
You will be required to work 4-6 weekend shifts per 6-week period. RTO:
Any requested time off must be submitted at the time of application. Local Radius:
