Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation,(CMMI), State & Population Health Group (SPHG), Div of Health Care Delivery (DHCD). As a Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-13, you will manage education and outreach for private health insurance consumers. Your duties include external communications, website/product development, media relations, and research across media. Responsibilities Recommend the advancement of new and innovative approaches to conduct education, outreach, or external relations tasks that can be used by CMS divisions. Oversee the development and maintenance of website copy and outreach artifacts targeted to the needs of health insurance marketplace consumers, Medicare beneficiaries, Medicaid program officials, and health care providers. Provide advisory services to management in matters pertaining outreach and partner management system and customer relationship management tools. Develop training and assistance to regional offices for the review and evaluation of provider, physician, supplier, and beneficiary overpayment recovery and third-party systems. Analyze the impact of new or revised changes to legislation before Congress for any CMS program by sharing feedback from providers, stakeholders, consumers, and beneficiaries. In order to qualify for the GS-13 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Conducting education and outreach to healthcare providers, beneficiaries, or other stakeholders associated with healthcare programs; and 2) Developing or implementing improvement projects regarding beneficiary awareness and utilization of available program services; and 3) Adapting communications material based on the characteristics and needs of various audience segments {e.g., demographics, language, ethnicity, etc.) to deliver effective messaging to diverse groups Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
